I am a balanced trainer who combines reward-based techniques with fair corrections, introduced once a dog associates specific behaviors with commands. I strongly believe in being as gentle as I can be, but as firm as I need to be! “Educator” brand ecollars are used for most behavioral programs and are included in the cost.

Unlike most traditional “shock collars”, E-Collar Technologies’ Electronic Collars use a form of wide-pulse stimulus that targets the neck muscles of the dog (like a TENS unit). Once a dog is conditioned to understanding how their ecollar works for them, I consider it more like a handy (one way) radio for you and your dog. Ecollars give your dog freedom and a clear understanding on how to navigate our world!
The term “shock collars” for some, has a negative connotation. Many people incorrectly assume that shock collars cause physical harm or lasting damage to a dog as a form of punishment. This couldn’t be farther from the truth. Electric Collars are designed to get your dog’s attention, not as a form of punishment. -
Yes! Ecollar technologies has a 2 year warranty on their ecollars.

Hold “Program” button on the right side of your remote until the number flashes. This feature locks and unlocks your stimulation number from moving accidentally.

Call Lauren (858) 609-0090 to discuss details and options! Baskerville Muzzles may help them from defaulting to these behaviors out of frustration. Training a dog positively, and slowly to a muzzle is the key to success!

No, ecollars aren’t necessary forever! It is a good safety measure for impulsive, aggressive dogs. Hwoever, if you’re dedicated to your training, and have detrmined that your dog has not needed ANY major corrections for 21 days or more, we can start to wean off. Lauren can also advise you on your process at group classes.
